Salted Earth, Silent Tears

BY BIPUL AHMED

In the coastal unions of Gabura and Pratapnagar in Shyamnagar, Satkhira, life was once intimately tied to rivers that sustained both land and community. After cyclones Sidr (2007) and Aila (2009), the landscape was transformed: embankments collapsed, seawater surged in, and fertile lands turned to saline wastelands. This series documents the ongoing struggle of families who face barren fields, contaminated water, and the harsh realities of climate change, while capturing the quiet resilience and enduring strength of those who remain.
