The series registers bodies in motion and the daily practices of the Mermortunré people as natural expressions of an ancestral relationship with the land. In contrast, the elements of destruction appear as fixed and invasive structures: fences, silos, statues. Together, these images reveal a forest and a community resisting the advance of agribusiness across Maranhão.
