Yan Miranda’s project explores healing, ecological preservation, and Brazil’s natural heritage through his transformative experiences with psilocybin mushrooms. During his journey in Brazil, Yan Miranda reconnected with nature and communicated with Afro-Brazilian divinities like Yemanjá, receiving messages not only for personal healing but also for ecological preservation.
Using AI to interpret his visions, emotions, and silent dialogues with these spiritual beings, Yan Miranda blends synthetic and organic elements in his work. Experimental techniques like infrared film and burning negatives amplify the fragility and beauty of endangered landscapes, turning his art into a call for environmental protection.
ABOUT YAN MIRANDA
Born in 1994 in Brazil, Yan Miranda Mayer trained at ECAL, earning a bachelor’s degree in visual communication with a specialization in photography. His artistic approach blends experimental and traditional techniques, often enriched by immersive and introspective processes. In 2022, a journey to Brazil marked a turning point in his practice, prompting explorations of spirituality, ecology, and the relationship between humanity and nature. This experience inspired the project Reverie Rebirth, which merges analog photography, artificial intelligence, and visual storytelling. Today, Mayer continues to refine his research on the intersections of images, personal narratives, and contemporary issues, while questioning humanity’s place within its environment.
